Cornerstone Technologies is Hiring a Graphic Design Manager Near American Fork, UT

We are Cornerstone and we’re entering our fourth decade as a premiere live event production company. We’re seeking an experienced design manager to amaze us with their talent and passion for creating transformative brand experiences – and to help us maintain and solidify our place as an industry design leader.

The Graphic Design Manager will report to the Creative Director and will lead a team of talented designers in producing graphics for client pitches, events, tradeshows, online needs, branded merch, and more. This position will be part of the Creative Department leadership team and will help shape our team as we dive into the future. We can’t wait to meet you!

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Embody Cornerstone’s core values, passion, accountability, innovation, teamwork, integrity, empowerment.
  2. Work closely with Creative Director and other managers within the Creative Department.
  3. In partnership with Creative Director and other key stakeholders; develop, maintain, and champion corporate brand standards.
  4. Support team and company by completing design assignments for varied deliverables. (Includes but not limited to stage graphics, large format event signage, tradeshow booths, photo ops, branded activations, web design, social media, presentations, etc.)
  5. Attend site visits to understand facility capabilities and restrictions. Take notes, photos/videos, etc. to aid in communicating details with the team and other internal stakeholders.
  6. Interface with internal stakeholders and client-side partners to ensure desired results are met. Be on show-site as needed to aid in successful outcomes of projects.
  7. Review design work of your team and provide direction. Thoroughly review copy/content for accuracy and check for grammatical errors, spellings, and punctuation. Challenge your team to provide strong, fresh, compelling designs.
  8. Ensure you and your team stay current on design software, print & web design, event design/trends, internal inventory, industry materials/resources, vendor capabilities, etc.
  9. Actively lead and contribute positively to brainstorms, reviews, strategy meetings, etc. Maintain positive working relationships within all areas of the business.

MANAGEMENT RESPOSIBILITIES 

  1. Lead, assist, mentor, and manage team—set expectations and hold team members accountable.
    1. Develop/follow processes, represent team capabilities/bandwidth, establish/track timelines, etc. Resolve issues and develop solutions for challenges that may arise within projects.
    2. Support and mentor team members to ensure success off and on-site. Provide learning opportunities for team to grow.
    3. Ensure team deliverables are on-time, well designed, follow brand standards, meet objectives, and are executed according to plan. Ensure files and resources are properly organized and archived.
  2. Keep all stakeholders informed of project status and positively collaborate. Coordinate and facilitate feedback/approvals with stakeholders internally/externally. Receive and convey direction well, and positively incorporate feedback.
  3. Vet freelancers, vendors/contractors, develop, and maintain strong working relationships. QC work, proofs, prints, etc.
  4. Manage team and projects budgets. Collect/negotiate pricing and ensure terms are within budget. Evaluate deliverables and invoices to ensure accuracy.

 REQUIREMENTS

  1. BA/BFA in graphic design, web design or related discipline. Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in print and web design. Exhibits strength in design principles: layout, typography, color theory, scale, etc.
  2. 6 years professional design experience in graphic design, web design, advertising, or related field.
    (Past management experience is ideal.)
  3. Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, InCopy, Acrobat), Keynote, and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office).
  4. Strategic thinker. Strong team player, with the ability to work independently, collectively, and effectively lead/organize teams.
  5. Excellent communication skills. Detailed oriented/organized. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within tight time frames.
  6. Ability to travel as needed to support assignments. Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
  7. Applicants must reside in Utah or being willing to relocate. (No relocation packages will be offered.)
